A great school
IntroductionI chose Clark because it was small but not too small, not too close but not too far from home, diverse, liberal, international, and community service oriented. Also, there's no Greek life, so that's good. Conservative, close-minded people should stay away from Clark.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere are a fair amount of events around campus but they tend to be pretty poorly attended. The most popular event is the Annual International Gala, which almost everyone on campus goes to. Club performances are usually pretty popular, as are movies in the caf and some dances and dinners. On weekend nights, people usually go to parties on campus or out clubbing. Boston is a 40 minute $8 train ride away, so people go there too.
AcademicsI think the best departments at Clark are Psychology, Government, and International Relations. We do not have big departments in any of the arts. There are some good professors and some bad ones. Unfortunately, there are many course choices and there's usually only one section of every course offered per semester. Freshman and sophomores can have a hard time getting into popular classes. Workload really depends on the class and professor, but overall it is tough but not too overwhelming.
Student BodyThere is no typical Clarkie. The students are very diverse and from all over the world. There are hippies, punks, preps, jocks, and everything in between. The only things that most Clarkies have in common are friendliness and being community service oriented.
In Closing...Clark is a good school. It's better than a state school, but not as snobby or elitist as an Ivy. Clarkie pride!!
