CIA is AWESOME
IntroductionI chose CIA because of the program, the class sizes, and the facilities. When I took the campus tour I knew that CIA was the right school for me. I would say to anyone who is interested in CIA or art school in general to take a tour, talk to current students and meet some faculty. And its always a good idea to get a feel for the student art work. CIA is serious business, slackers need not apply.
Campus Life and Social LifeCIA is a pretty small school with huge facilites. Everyone gets a personal studio space in their major and really becomes a part of the community. Because classes are small you get a lot of individual attention, and you know pretty much everyone. We work really hard at CIA but we also know how to have fun. There's a lot to do in University Circle and plenty of parties and bars around the area. When you're not working in the studio, you should be out doing something.
AcademicsWe have 16 majors at CIA. Some large and some small. We're pretty well known for having a lot of choices and flexibility in our program. You can major in one area and still take classes all over. The faculty are awesome and they expect a lot from the students. One of my foundation teachers told me that for every hour you spend in class you should spend an hour in the studio working for that class. Its a lot of work, but its also a lot of fun.
Student BodyThe students are what make CIA so amazing. I've made the best friends of my life here. Its cool too because we're all from different places, all in different majors, but we're all best friends. Where else can you say your best friends are glass artsits, animators, and car designers?
In Closing...CIA is awesome. Anyone who doesn't agree can go home.
