Not a Big City School

Rating: 1/5 (42 ratings)
Introduction
Colorado State is a fun, friendly campus with lots of opportunities to get involved. Many people come here because of the variety of outdoor activities close to campus. This may not be your place if you don't like being outside or people who talk about agriculture, it's not a big city kind of place. Since it's a pretty big school, there are lots of opportunities to pursue what you're passionate about, but as a big public campus, there is a lot of competition to deal with. As for Fort Collins, it is a fun place to be for college, there are tons of great places to eat and hang out, but the city isn't always college student friendly, which can be annoying when it comes to working and living off campus.

Campus Life and Social Life
The party scene is awesome, if you know where to look. The local police are cracking down with crazy noise violation tickets that can cost $1,000 or more, but it doesn't stop most people. There tons of clubs catering to almost any interest, from anime to skeet shooting and anything in between. We aren't known for our sports, but the games are always a good time. Football and basketball games draw the biggest crowds, but our volleyball team is up there too.

Academics
CSU isn't exactly the Ivy League. You can pretty much do as much work as you want and get away with it. There are majors where you will do nothing but work on school, but there are other classes to take that let you off pretty easy. It all depends on what you want to do with your degree and how hard you want to work to get there. Like most big public schools, the work you put in is what you'll get out of it. If you work hard you'll be rewarded, and if you're just looking to get the C's to get your degree, you can squeak by pretty easily.

Student Body
Not the most diverse campus, most students are your average, middle class, white kids. Most are from Colorado or close to it.

In Closing...
CSU is a fun, laid back campus in a gorgeous setting.
