The Best of the Midwest
IntroductionI chose CSU because of its close proximity to many outdoor activities, such as rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. I also chose it because of its academics. I would stay away from CSU if you aren't really into being outdoors and don't like to party.
Campus Life and Social LifeCSU has a great party scene, with many parties all over, every night. Tailgating for the football games is amazing and worth coming to CSU in itself. There are all kinds of intramural sports teams and clubs to join all across campus. Weekends are a blast, with trips to the mountains, nightly concerts, and a great party scene.

AcademicsCSU has a history of great academics. I am currently a forestry student in the college of Natural Resources and would consider my forestry program and the college itself to be among the best in the country. Classes aren't too big, professors are usually easy-going and knowledgable, and though the workload is a little tough, it's what you have to expect from a college with a reputation such as CSU.
Student BodyI don't think its possible to describe the "typical" student. Students at CSU come from all walks of life. What makes CSU so great is that there are so many different people with so many different views and ideas.
In Closing...I've been to and visited a lot of friends at many different colleges around the west, such as Boulder, Bozeman, Missoula, Laramie, and various Univ's in California and would still choose CSU over all of them. I definitely made the right choice.
