Great School, Great City
IntroductionIts a great combination of campus living and the accessibility of having the big city right there as soon as you step off campus
Campus Life and Social LifeNot so many sporting events to attend, but you can find clubs and bars on every block! There is never a shortage of things to do in NY!

AcademicsAcademics are top notch. Professors are all well known in their fields, but this can sometimes mean they care more about their own work than their students. Anthropology, psychology, engineering, and international studies are all great departments.
Student BodyThere are so many other young people around that students don't necessarily hang out with other Columbia students. Students know how to work hard, but they also know how to party - this is NY after all. Clubs and bars are more popular than sports, at least college sports. However, with the Yanks and Mets right off of subways, professional sports games are well attended too.
In Closing...Don't come here if you're not happy in the city. In fact, most students seem to want the school because of its location as much as its reputation.
Students can cross-register with Barnard College across the street, opening up even more academic possibilities.
