Sex in Butler

Introduction
Columbia was my desired choice. If I could do it all over again, I would not have done anything differently. It has met and exceeded my expectations. If you are a high school student reading this, I think the most important thing to know is that Columbia students are independent in both thought and action. You don't find a lot of the herd-mentality here. So don't expect excessive keg use, fratboy culture, football madness, etc..

Campus Life and Social Life
The five best things about campus life at Columbia, in my opinion, are: 1. The Butler stacks; 2. Barnard women; 3. New York City's opportunities for professional advancement; 4. New York City's opportunities for entertainment and socializing; 5. East Campus. The five worst: 1. John Jay food; 2. Cost of living in NYC; 3. Largely unattractive student population; 4. Huge loans you'll have to pay back (but that's anywhere, so at least Columbia has a great rep/alumni connections); 5. Being a student here can get lonely at times. You are so on your own, people have lives and it's easy to get swept up in the action. Sometimes I realize I've been running really fast, but I'm not sure if I'm really going anywhere. I am a writer, so I spent a great deal of time by myself.

Academics
Professors are extremely accessible at Columbia. Many of my former Profs and TAs have become mentors and friends. The workload can be killer if you try to do too much, so choose your courses carefully. The Core is extremely demanding. Some profs are notorious for being tough graders, but the good thing is you will really work hard and learn something. Through the sort of self-discipline Columbia demands, one ultimately learns to think for themselves, and that's a great, empowering thing.

Student Body
I find the women at Barnard immensely attractive. I find they are more liberal minded and well-rounded than what you'll find at Columbia. They do a lot of activism for such a small student body. Sometimes they even intimidate me. I'm currently seeing an English major at Barnard. She's amazing. After hanging out a couple of times, while we were studying in Butler she took me to the stacks had her way with me. I bet she's going to laugh when she reads this. I'll admit I've taken Barnard classes just to be around the women. They also have better food on their campus--including more vegetarian options--and a lot of it is Kosher.

In Closing...
Try it in the Stacks. You'll like it.
