Introduction
I am thrilled that I chose Cornell, cause looking back, I realize how perfect it was for me. It offered everything that I could want socially and it left me with great academic standings.
It isn't a small, intimate school. But every time you walk the paths of the campus you run into people you know. If you're up for living in a college town and have the gusto to find your way through hundreds of options, Cornell may just be perfect for you, too.

Campus Life and Social Life
The caliber of students is very high. People are active in student groups and so you always have programs and performances to go to. So many things are going on on campus that you often have multiple events on one night - you just don't have enough time in your day to see and do everything you want. The food on campus is the best, and is also convenient, so you can always meet up with friends for meals, snacks or lattes.
The partying is good and it varies yearly. Freshman year - the frat parties are perfect and exciting, though they wear thin after enough time. By junior year the bars are great and friends are having house parties, so you have the options of chill partying or dancing.
More clubs would have been good and a better party scene for my sophomore year, but there was always something to do if i wanted.

Academics
There are a million classes. If it interests you for a major or a fun class, it's there. From bee-keeping to rock-climbing to belly dancind to scultpure, everything is available. Some deparments are of course better than others, but I actually don't know so well. The Ag school is pretty strong for what they offer, as long as it interests you.
Professors care. I had professors who love to teach, and the only reason why I sometimes didn't have relationships with them wa because I never approached them. They all have office hours and enjoy talking with students after class.
I liked the TAs in the Ag school the most, but I think that's because I could relate to them the most. I ran into them on campus and enjoyed talking to them. For the intro classes, I found that it was hit or miss with the TAs. Some were great, but you could just as easily get one with whom you couldn't speak (language barrier).
My workload was fine. When you take harder classes, you take fewer of them at a time, and when you're feeling good about it all, you add on more. At some point in every semester you will have to work work work, but once you get passed that week, everything smooths out again.

Student Body
I loved my peers. They are all very different, but it seems that most kids were from the US, especially the northeast. Because Cornell has some land grant schools, there are a lot of New Yorkers as well. People are reasonably attractive, and often times bundled. You usually only see skin at the beginning and ends of the year and at parties (where there is lots of skin).
People generally have a passion or two that they commit themselves to (like a dance troupe or political club), enjoy their major, though take classes outside it as well, are laid back, dress cute and casual and enjoy hanging out with friends.

In Closing...
Cornell was the perfect place for me. The physical atmosphere of gorges and beautiful landscapes made life as a Natural Resources major and a runner heavenly. If you're looking for a city life and where intimacy with staff is the norm, Cornell isn't the place for you. Ithaca is an ideal college town with a hippy and artsy culture, but it is small. Anything that you want is a walk away, from collegetown, apartments, and dorms.
