Perfect Balance!
IntroductionCornell has absolutely everything to offer every type of student; academically AND socially. All of these options are spread across an amazing campus; beautiful and full of everything you could ever need. There are 13,000 undergrads and you are sure to find people who are like you and like what you like, there are some of everything and everything to choose from.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe social life at Cornell is as diverse as its huge student body. There is something for everybody to entertain themselves at all times. Most of the freshman party scene is found on Thursday-Saturday nights hosted by many of the 40 fraternities. These parties are the quinticential frat parties with tons of people and lots of Keystone. Cornell is not known for its great sports teams, so there is definately a lack of pregaming before big games and sporting-event related parties. But there is an immeasurable enthusiasm for our amazing hockey team and the whole school gets behind our best athletic events.

AcademicsHere is where the perfect balance comes in-academics. School is always a priority even if you love to party. The classes are tough, no doubt; but managable. Just make sure to take advantage of the 13 libraries on campus and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. This way you have time to party on the weekends and try to avoid the infamous craming time before midterm season. Also, the professors (or TAs more likely) are always willing to help you with homework or anything you want. Utelize the email sysytem, its the best way to get ahold of any teacher or TA.
Student BodyThere is an obviously diverse student body here. You have absouletly every type of sterotype clique. There are the book worms; rarely seen out at night unless its at the library. The artsy people; love to do the events with movies, museums and such offered by the school instead of going to parties. The partiers; known as the "Cornell 500" these proportionately small group of students are the ones who go out to parties every night that there is one offered and get to be known as such. The jocks; there are tons of athletes here and you'll mostly see them out at parties but always in groups with members of their teams. The Greeks: fraternities and sororites are a big part of the social scene as well as the student body makeup. They are most often the most social people, but also the ones who do the most philanthropic stuff on campus.
In Closing...Cornell is the perfect balace of amazing academics and a great social life. Whatever you want to do, you can find it here. Plus, you get an amazing reputation without the stuffy association that most Ivy League school sometimes get. It's a great place where everyone can feel at home!
*ps---we have amazing food! on campus (there are tons of different cafeterias to choose from all around) and off (so many little restaurants to choose from in walking distance without the stripmall feel)
