Slackers watch out

Rating: 4/5 (22 ratings)
Introduction
My major is in the school of Human Ecology, which is a pretty small school in the whole context of Cornell. Arts and Sciences is definitely our biggest school that we have. We also have ILR, Industrial and Labor Relations. We also have engineering. Because I’m pre-med I think my major is a little harder than usual, but the school that I’m in is not considered a very difficult school. Human Ecology is a lot of working with people and Human Development. I probably study about 24 hours a week.Slackers in a pre-med course are not going to get by Mostly because it’s a lot of work and it’s not that much fun. A lot of people drop out.

Campus Life and Social Life
I joined a sorority and I love it a lot. There’s definitely always something to do. There’s always somebody doing something.I know a lot of people who go out every night and I know a lot of people who go out once a semester. I think there is a huge division here at Cornell and lot depends on what your major is.ILR majors are definitely the party animals here on campus. The Hotelees get to party a lot. Anybody who is engineering on pre-meds, they are going to be in the library most of the time. Our libraries are social scenes, we have café’s and people will just stay at the library all day.

Academics
I heard a number that 30% of the students here are Greek, which is probably about right. I know as a freshman I thought this school was huge, the first semester, then I rushed second semester and realized how small it was. Once you know everyone in the Greek system, you see them everywhere. It really helps to make the school a lot smaller. The guys here I would say are not my type personally. A lot of them are pretty focused on their work. They are very intense people. There are some fun guys. You have your jock house, and your studious house, and your pretty boy house.

Student Body
A lot of people are involved in student government here. It’s pretty big. Any type of club you want to get into you can get into. I started my own group here. It’s a leadership group. It’s small group of students within my school that tries to unite the groups within our school.
