Drexel Boo-niversity
IntroductionI chose Drexel because of the co-op experience I would get from attending. Since I am interested in computers, I figured an engineering degree in Comp. Sci. would be a suitable avenue for me to pursue...little did I know that I was in for hours upon hours of seemingly useless classwork and writing assignments on useless topics. For me at least, the sheer number of hours of work I'm given per week are putting a damper on my college experience, and I don't find my major terribly stimulating.
Campus Life and Social LifeParties on/near the campus are frequent and decent. Most of the house parties require a 5-dollar entry fee for guys (girls, inevitably, get in for free...) and then find themselves broken up right when they start to get rolling.
Also, despite the free entry for girls, the parties generally suffer from a 3:1 guy" girl ratio...and crappy beer. Better parties can be found on the UPENN campus 5-6 blocks away. If you're not willing to enter the frat scene (or visit it on weekends), you're totally screwed as far as partying is concerned.

AcademicsThe Engineering College sucks...unless you're extremely interested in the work. Be forewarned: they make you take bullshit courses for your entire freshman year and it'll be several semesters after that before you get truly involved, in depth, in your area of interest. Frustating? Hell yeah.
Student BodyDrexel is filled with the older versions of high school cliches. Either the dumb fratty types or the bitter nerds. As I'm an engineer, I meet more from Column B: my classmates are primarily the dorks I picked on in grade school. When it comes to dating/social life for these poor saps, show them anything with tits and they'll run screaming. I'm just saying.
In Closing...This may seem a strange thing to compliment so aggressively, but our dining hall RULES ALL. Unless you grew up in a mall, you've never seen anything like it. Chinese food, burgers, pizza, omelets, desert bar, sandwiches, specialty dinners, etc. I have to say it's my favorite part of going to school here.
A final FYI: if you do end up here as a freshman, take it from me that Towers Hall owns the rest.
