Creative Students
IntroductionThis is a school for creative students who intend on majoring in the art and communication fields ONLY. Students here are passionate about their work and are very involved with multiple clubs. The staff consists of mostly professionals, some who work full time and teach a few classes a week. Emerson offers students hands on experience before they graduate. Students that are heavily athletic, lazy and homophobic should stay away from Emerson at all costs.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe best part of social life is that Emerson is in the heart of downtown Boston. There are plenty of shops and clubs and theatres. The down sides to social life is that there aren't many Emerson parties (however the city of Boston has many other colleges where students can find great parties), the subway stops running at 1am and cabs are expensive. Campus life is unique since it is in a city, there isn't much of a campus but students who live off campus find themselves on campus a lot if they're involved with clubs. Sports exist at Emerson but none of our teams are stellar and there isn't much school spirit due to a lack of facilities.

AcademicsDepending on your major at Emerson, students opinions can vary a lot. As a marketing major I find my workload moderate throughout the semester and I am always overloaded with projects and presentations at the end of each semester. When it comes to departments Emerson is most known for their excellent Marketing and Film programs. Professors are generally helpful and go out of their way to help you, if you look for help. There are good and bad professors in every college, I feel that Emerson professors want to see their students exceed and are determined to give students their money's worth. Teachers are also very interested in student feedback. I do not believe Emerson has TAs.
Student BodyA typical student from Emerson is creative, fashionable, outgoing, very liberal, and artistic. Many students are from California, NY and Massachusetts (Ex. LA, NYC). Students are into underground music, typically hip hop and indie rock. There is a large gay population at Emerson, mostly guys. Emerson students are determined to make it big in the industry as well.
In Closing...I transferred here and I love it!
