North meets South
Rating: 2.1/5 (59 ratings)
IntroductionWhen I got here, it was just like a whole different experience like, pretty excited to be here and going out like going to parties and having fun and then by second semester after break things started to get a little more serious and started to mellow out.
Campus Life and Social LifeEvery Thursday night, Emory sponsors like a club night and that was real big in the fall semester. As Rush started in the second semester for Fraternities, that really took over like as far as the social scene went. Less people started going out Thursday nights and more people started joining Greek Life.

AcademicsPre-Med’s probably one of the like hardest programs that they do here at Emory. And I mean I came in because I thought I was all smart from high school and stuff but yeah, you got to put your mind to it and study a lot more than one might think you would. So it’s a pretty hard program to go through here. Each professor has their own office hours so I mean, if you really are interested in talking to the professor or getting help, it’s up to you to go and talk to him. The professors, they’re not going to come talk to you if you’re doing bad in a class, you have to go and talk to them, but otherwise they’re pretty helpful with that kind of stuff.
Student BodyI’m from the South and a lot of students here are from the north and it just seems like the Northern students are kind of more cliquey than you would expect. I’m actually on financial aid on grant. It’s pretty expensive and my family is going through a lot to send me here so it’s pretty expensive compared to like a state school.
In Closing...School spirit, there isn’t really much any of it. The soccer team and the baseball team are probably like the best teams that this school has. They are pretty good for Division 3, but no one really cares that much about it. IM sports seem to be pretty big here, especially if you’re in like Greek life, but it’s just like another way to like socialize and like have fun and get away from studying.
