Home of the Seminoles
IntroductionFlorida State is an awesome school. There really is room for all kinds of people at this university, but it definitely helps to be outgoing. There are clubs and extracurricular organization for all walks of life from knitting to pro-hemp groups.
I chose the school for its reputation as a "fun" school, and for the almost complete lack of winter (maybe only two weeks below 50).
Campus Life and Social LifeWeekends (especially home game-days) are awesome. There is tail-gating (as early as 8am if it is a noon game), events at the stadium, and a quality football, baseball, and fair basketball team. There are plenty of intramural sports allowing participation from the most athletic of sorts to the people just wanting to have fun. Every Wednesday there is a showcase in the student union of all of the organization on campus. There is never a lack of adequate parties. You are sure to find one any day of the week, almost anywhere you look, ranging from "multi-keggers" to "chill get-togethers" and everything in-between.

AcademicsFlorida State is definitely not Harvard, but you are sure to get a fine education. I had friends who graduated and went to Juliard School for the Arts, and Columbia University School for Physicians and Surgens. There is an Honors program for those who really want to be pushed, and for the other end of the spectrum we have classes on the Simpson's and Today's Cinema. Many of the classes are taught by proffessors, but most of the lower level courses are taught by TA's. For the most part, the work-load is light to moderate.
Student BodyMost students at FSU are Floridians. The majority of the students are white, but there are students of all races. I was surprised to find FSU had one of the highest number of National Hispanic Merit Scholars in the nation. The interests of the student body are as far-reacihng as the students are diverse.
In Closing...FSU is great and full of tradition. From getting dunked in the fountain on your birthday, to cheering the 'Noles on to victory on Saturdays, to doing the "Tennessee Waltz" on your 21st, there is definitely something for everyone there!
