Underrated
IntroductionIf you can handle the city and want to get into business, art, or law especially then go for it. Location location location. The Lincoln Center campus is right in the middle of the capital of the world, and the Bronx campus is a 20 minute shuttle ride. That being said nobody is going to hold your hand, so if you need a babysitter Fordham probably isn't for you. Temptation is lurking on every corner, and it takes a mature person to go to school in this city.
Campus Life and Social LifeSame thing as you've probably read about the other NYC schools. Not your traditional college atmosphere, the city is your campus. Having experienced both I think the "city campus" atmosphere is much more fulfilling. Just be careful and travel in packs if you're going to experiment with the nightlife.
AcademicsIf you maintain a high GPA you can get into Fordham law, which is ranked in the top 25 in the nation. It ranks only behind Harvard, NYU, Georgetown and Columbia for most grads in the 30 highest compensating firms in the country. If you're interested in business or the arts I don't think I have to sell you on the type of opportunities you have at your disposal.
Student BodyIt's a Catholic Jesuit school, so there are a lot of preppy kids but you'll be able to find someone you can click with, and everyone is opinionated and engaging so you'll find yourself in some stimulating conversation. The basketball team is D1 and there's usually a nice turnout.
In Closing...Don't listen to all the jazz about it being "the school for NYU rejects". Anyone that's had any experience with NYU knows it's really not that hard to be an "NYU reject" to begin with, but besides that there are plenty of reasons to attend this school and it shouldn't be labeled as some sort of safety net. A good friend of mine got into JP Morgan Chase through Fordham, and a lot of other reputable companies recruit at Fordham. If you're thinking of going to school in the big city and already applied to the other two, apply here as well. It's at least worth the application fee and one visit.
