Georgia Tech:Hell or Untapped Resource?

Introduction
Hrmmmm. To a high school student considering my school; caveat empor. It means buyer beware. I chose to come to Georgia Tech because I wanted to become an engineering student, I lived in Georgia, and it's the best school in the state (Hope scholarship). My advice to male students is unless you like to study pretty much all the time you probably dont belong here. Tech has horrible housing, horrible food, extremely hard classes, and no social life; so be prepared for your life to take a turn for the worst. Most students transfer or drop out. Girls don't have it so bad because the ratio of men to women is 3:1 but men prepare for loneliness. Slackers who don't do shit in high school NEED NOT APPLY.

Campus Life and Social Life
Unless you join a fraternity prepare for the mundane. Over one quarter of tech is greek and theres a good reason. If you're not greek then you dont party.(unless ur a girl) Girls get into every party free and get all the free booze u can imagin, but guys don't expect to go party hopping. Fraternities often have brothers cruising around itching to kick someone out of a party. The only other way is to meet people through clubs. And do not expect to meet people in your classes. Some frats allow other guys to party but dont expect them to give you booze. Sports are hard and time consuming and if you can pass while doing a sport well then more power to you. Band kids get ridiculed. Academics
Management is called the M-Train because everyone hops on it to get out of school. I was a Mech engineering student coming in and the sadistic physics and math classes just about killed me (literally!). If you want to do engineering prepare to have no social life and if you do try to juggle frats and school prepare to fail (I know I did). International affairs is also pretty easy, EE and Architecture are hell. There are good professors but they are few and far between. Mostly just expect them to teach the class and leave and not give a shit about what you think. They will fail you without remorse. The TA's aren't any better and the workload will keep you bogged down pretty much all week long. On wed I had a chinese quiz, thurs I had a major paper and an econometrics quiz, and today I had a test in chinese and macroeconomics.

Student Body
Typical passing student = asian probably who spends lots of time in library. Very responsible, not necessarily smart. Typical failing student likes to party and smoke weed and puts homework and studying off till later. If you want to party go to UGA. Geeks are into halo and computer and programming.

In Closing...
Tech drains your soul. I know this is hard to understand but it slowly saps your will. I hate it here and I could transfer out but I just dont have the will to. I mean I could, but why not just stay here? Also my grades are pretty shot and schools don't like that. Tech provides a great degree and people hire out of tech ALL the time because they know if you survive tech your a trooper, but surviving four years (really five years for engineering hahaha) is the trick. Girls don't have it so bad but guys if you decide to come here I feel your pain.
