Spiritual Oasis
IntroductionI chose Grove City for its combination of wholesome Christian atmosphere, high academic standards, and low cost. If you are looking for a place to meet some awesome new friends while evolving spiritually, Grove City will be great for you. Depending on your major, you should be prepared to work hard, but if you come here in part for the religious aspect of the community, it shouldn't be a problem that it's not a campus filled with drunken ragers.
Campus Life and Social LifeWhat you do on the weekends is totally up to you. I'm sure that there is some partying going on though I haven't seen it because I don't seek it out. Most people that I know use the weekends as a time to get to know everyone else better and catch up on some of that homework they didn't do during the week. My typical weekend usually involves getting together with a bunch of friends and baking cookies/playing cards/seeing a movie both nights. Lots of people go to church on Sundays, so you won't be alone when you get dressed up and head for the chapel. On Sunday evenings, there are various clubs/meetings that one can go to. Among the most popular are Christian clubs like the Christian Athletes and a worship-oriented singing group called Uplift.

AcademicsThe academics are definitely a challenge to some. If you can handle the stimulation, it is great. As at most colleges, the quality of professors and level of workload varies from class to class, so ask around when you get here to tailor your academic program to what you're looking for. For my humanities classes I have had two very interesting professors...for Biology 101 not so much.
Student BodyThe typical "Grover" seems to be a bit on the obsessive/compulsive side. A lot of them are goal-oriented. Most are "Christian," or at least brought up with those ethical and spiritual standards. Translation: the kids are fun to be with and know how to have a good time without relying on drugs and alcohol. Kids come from all over the country and occasionally other countries as well. My hall, for example, has students representing Vietnam, California, and West Virginia. People are different and you can't stereotype Grovers on a whole...
In Closing...Grove City is an amazing school. I absolutely love it. The kids here are supportive, friendly, and spiritually connected to the world around them and the work they're doing. An awesome experience if that's what you're looking for.
