Only Liberals Need Apply

Rating: 2/5 (3 ratings)
Introduction
This is a bastion for liberal and performing arts: music, art, poetry...if you want to be creative and think outside the box socially, you'll love it here. If you have difficulty accepting different lifestyles (homosexual, etc.) you will not enjoy it.

Campus Life and Social Life
This is a big drinking/partying school...the kids are as liberal with their social life as they are with their politics.

Academics
The work isn't terribly hard, but what is terrible is the advising system. I've had a run of bad luck with academic advisors steering me in the completely wrong direction. So make sure to get recommendations from other students, and switch advisors if you arrive here and find yourself stuck with a lemon.

Student Body
First things first: the girls here are gorgeous. But they are self-involved as hell, and relatively shallow.

The guys annoy me, but that could be because their incredibly liberal lifestyle isn't exactly kosher where I come from...like I said, it's an artsy community which means there's a large number of gay and lesbians, which I personally find difficult to deal with as a straight male.

In Closing...
The dorm situation is problematic because they don't segregate by grade: in my case, I'm a freshmen stuck on a floor with upperclassmen who have already made their friends...which has made it more difficult for me to find my niche here socially. Do what you can to live with other freshman your first year here and you'll have an easier time of it.
