Friendly People
IntroductionHuntington wasn't my first choice when I started my college search. After a visit to campus, that all changed. The second I walked onto campus people were smiling and saying hello to me. They seemed interested in my college search and interested in me. This continued when I moved on campus my freshman year and is continuing still as I begin my junior year here.
Since coming to Huntington, I've grown so much academically, spiritually and as a whole person. The different programs, organizations, and classes that Huntington offers have helped shape and continues to shape me as a whole person. The friendships that I’ve made will last a lifetime.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe social life on campus is great! I grew up next Chicago, you would think that throughout high school I would have never been bored, with a major city at my feet, but I was. Every weekend my friends and I would just sit around complaining about how there is nothing to do. You would think that coming to Huntington, Indiana would give you less options but I feel like there are so much more. From the different activities that go on campus to the dollar theatre just a drive away, I’m a lot less bored than I ever was at home during high school.

AcademicsI struggle with academics. I'm a person that would much rather talk to people than sit down and read a book. One thing that I really appreciate about Huntington is the small class size. The Profs know my name and I'm not afraid to approach them.
Most of the professors are professionals in their area of study and the intro and core classes don't have TAs which makes learning a lot easier. You are learning from an expert and someone who has had experience in their area of study not just as a student.
The professors of each department each have their own personality from the history profs dressing up as Ben Franklin on constitution day to our physics prof zooming down the hallway on a cart with a fire extinguisher on the back.
Student BodyTypical students here want to have fun. We have a very active campus that likes to get involved with things we are interested in. From theatre to basketball (we are in Indiana, folks) to organizations like acting on AIDS.
In Closing...I would say to anyone who is undergoing the college search to find the school that best fits you. If a small Christ center close knit community is a place where you would feel at home in, you should come check out Huntington university. If not, then that's okay too!!!
