Ithaca College

Rating: 2/5 (41 ratings)
Introduction
An extreme Republican should stay away from Ithaca College because the students here are liberal and/or tolerant, and discrimination is unacceptable. I chose Ithaca both because of its leftist vibe and because pf its amazing academics: the TVR program and Park School are among the top in the nation.

Campus Life and Social Life
On the level of social life and feeling at home here, IC is exactly the right size. It's small enough that you'll see familiar faces every day, but large enough in scope that you'll constantly meet new people. As a result, the party scene is exciting and fun as well as accessible. Lots of house parties.

The athletic facilities are great, too. Though the campus social/party scene isn't centered on Varsity Sports/Tailgate parties, there are plenty of outlets for both competitive and intramural sports.

Academics
Academics here are great, in particular the Park School of Communications and the Center for Health Sciences. You can get by without busting your ass, but if you want to make the most of college, you'll be able to find a stimulating program that requires enough to make you keep thinking, but not so much that you forfeit the fun and partying you expect out of any self-respecting college.

Student Body
Lots of Long Island kids. Lots of Hippies. Lots of international students. Despite these generalizations, you'll find whoever you're looking for here. Whatever you're into, whoever you want to spend your time with, there's a niche for you at Ithaca.

In Closing...
I love it here!
