JMU Rocks

Introduction
JMU was not my first choice, but I don't regret the decision to come here at all. Any visit to this campus will show you the quality of people who attend this school. I've never met such a collection of genuinely nice, happy people in my life: everyone's thrilled to be here. If you think you're "too good" for The REAL University of Virginia, stay away. We like to leave the arrogant students to UVA and Tech.

Campus Life and Social Life
Have you heard we were rated the #1 party school by Playboy Magazine? Well, sorry to rain on your potential parade, but you've heard wrong. The actual article by Playboy said we were taken off the list of great party schools because it was unfair to pit pros like us against a list of amateurs. A party every weekend, free beer, and sports teams that are consistently Division I-AA National Champs. What more could you ask for? Advertisement
Academics
As long as you're not a Math major, you'll have a great time. The teachers generally love to be here and they'll teach you a lot. The TA's are all students who've been through the same classes, and understand your pain, confusion, and trials. They're incredibly helpful and great resources for any student.

Student Body
The typical student at JMU is smart not just in the classroom but out in the world as well. You'll learn more in your 4 years here than how to study or brown-nose your way to an A...you'll learn life lessons and how to socialize (see: party school, above). These lessons can only be learned by experience, and a diverse group of experiences is exactly what you'll have here. Every student here is an active member of the JMU community. We're proud to be Dukes, we're happy to be at JMU and we love to have fun and party whenever we can!

Anyone who doesn't consider this school is nuts! Take a visit and it'll be love at first sight.
