Kent State....eh?

Introduction
If you are a city slicker and you know you love the commotion and bustle of traffic and lights, I would recommend steering CLEAR from Kent State. Kent is located in a pretty "hillbilly-ish" town if you will...there's a lot of land nearby and not so many industrialized buildings. You can find your basic fast food restaurants like Arby's, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Burger King, and Wendy's...but if you're looking for real good food to enjoy, you need to head out to bigger cities like Akron or Beachwood.

Campus Life and Social Life
Although Kent is in the boonies, social life is really not to bad here. There are plenty of parties to go to, some of the best bar atmospheres, and people are surprisingly really friendly. The only bad thing about Kent is when the weekends roll around, everyone heads home. A lot of the flocking home results from everyone living so close to campus. Academics
I'm as big of a procrastinator and slacker as it gets. I do my work, but the workload here really isn't excessive or that tough. Although, if you are in a nursing or computer science major I've heard that things can get pretty rough. But I guess if you're going to decide to be educated in that field you should basically be prepared for anything, because they aren't easy courses anywhere.

Student Body
Students here come in a variety. You have a little bit of everything all rolled into one. There are hippies, punks, rockers, emo-kids, gangstas, preps, and your average joe. Students are usually pretty local, found throughout the state of Ohio, with your exception here and there of out-of-staters. A lot of people are really cool here and are up for basically anything. I've found out that no one really is opposed of trying new things, and everyone is pretty well united.

In Closing...
If you are a Fashion major or plan on taking anything related to the Arts, Kent is an amazing school for it. If you don't know where you want to go, Kent also is another choice to keep in mind. It's like a big random melting pot. You never know what you'll do or find around here. Good Luck!!
