Can't Go Wrong With Lehigh

Rating: 2/5 (72 ratings)
Introduction
Advice:
Learn to like stairs and hills a lot. Practice using the same foot to go up and down stairs. Be prepared to work hard and play hard. Understand that you will be joining the Lehigh Family. Anytime you are wearing LU stuff, be prepared that alumni will introduce themselves and want to talk with you.

Why Choose Lehigh:
It is an oustanding school with outstanding academics, plenty of extracurricular activities, and strong sports programs. The campus is amazing. Students in Engineering are able and are encouraged to take arts and sciences and business classes (same for the other areas).

Avoid Lehigh if:
You want a suitcase school. Want A's in classes without making an effort.

Campus Life and Social Life
Social Life is a very strong part of the Lehigh experience.

Best: Strong Greek System -- there is a house for everyone if that is an interest; Tons of recognized clubs on campus (theater, music, sports, academic, professional); Student programming group, UP, has plenty of weekend activities; Revitalized South Bethlehem and Historic Bethlehem have plenty to do.

Worst: Greek events tend to overshadow other things happening on campus.

Academics
Academics are very strong. Just because you were a 4.0 in high school, do not expect to have that same GPA at Lehigh.

Engineering is outstanding. Business is very strong. Limited knowledge of Arts and Sciences programs.

Professors are very open and have plenty of office hours. Classes are mostly taught by professors. TAs are available but mostly grade homework and teach lab sections.

Workload is intense. Time management becomes very important very quickly.

Student Body
Typical Lehigh students are from the northeast, mostly PA, NJ, NY.

In Closing...
Go to Lehigh and you will never regret it.
