Lots to Offer
Rating: 2.3/5 (12 ratings)
IntroductionLSU has lots to offer. Over 350 student clubs and organizations exist on-campus, so you know there are plenty of people for you to meet who share similar interests. The sports at LSU bring people together as we pack 92,000 into Tiger Stadium to cheer on our Tigers as they beat other weaker schools such as Auburn, Ole Miss or Alabama. You have to make sure to put aside enough time to work on your studies, though, or the party will end quickly. LSU is a great college choice though.
Campus Life and Social LifeSports kick ass here. Our athletics are in the Top-3 nationally and our intramurals programs are great as well. As for socializing, partying can be done throughout the week at one of the many bars around Baton Rouge. New Orleans is an hour away and that means on any given night, you can go and lose yourself on Bourbon Street and find yourself in a gutter in the morning.
AcademicsLSU is a good school academically, and constantly striving to improve its offerings and reputation. (Ed. Note: for more specific information on the programs offered, consult the school's website)
Student BodyThe typical LSU student is a Southerner, a Catholic and a drinker. Which is to say, in general, that he/she is probably a conservative, middle class Caucasian. That said, it is nothing like a school like Texas A&M, BYU, Ole Miss or the other super conservative schools. I'm not the typical LSU student, but I enjoy LSU and have plenty of friends here. There are students at LSU from all 50 states and something like 150 foreign countries, all religions, and cultural backgrounds. There is a good amount of diversity on campus and LSU is working hard to recruit more minorities and international students.
In Closing...LSU blows other schools out of the water.
