LMU Without the Rose-Colored Glasses

Rating: 5/5 (76 ratings)
Introduction
Loyola Marymout University. Let's see. This has been a looooong year. I was originally supposed to go to UCSB, but when I went to check out Loyola, I thought I loved it and changed my decision immediately.

Now, reflecting on that decision, my biggest piece of advice is: don't let the beautiful campus here at LMU persuade you to go to school here. If you are a nonconformist in any way, I would definitely not attend LMU. If you don't want to have to act fake to fit in somewhere, don't go here. And lastly, if you want a challenging school and a big or diverse campus, don't go here.

Campus Life and Social Life
First off, there is no real social life at LMU. You see people you know all the time because the campus is small, but LMU does not have a crazy party scene at all. There are many sports games and clubs here, but LMU does not have a football team which kind of sucks. Most people go home on the weekends because there is not that much to do.

Academics
I am a Communication Studies major and I detest it. It's very easy and there are only a few good professors. Ive noticed that the work at LMU is easier than any of the work I ever did in High School. I am not challenged here.

Student Body
The typical student has a lot of money and only cares about carrying a Coach or Louis Vuitton purse to fit in. Most of the students are from the West Coast, from wealthy communities like Newport Beach. The students are into themselves.

In Closing...
LMU is basically like a prison.
