Great Area and a Great Rep

Rating: 3/5 (78 ratings)
Introduction
Be involved in high school, don't just do one thing, do everything you possibly can it will help. I chose this school because it is in a great area, has a great reputation, and I fell in love with it when I took a tour. If you do not like liberals, and/or liberal ideas stay away from Mac. If you are not open minded also stay away.

Campus Life and Social Life
Social life is kind of lacking, most weekdays are spent doing homework, but on the weekends there is plenty of stuff to do. Lots of parties, dances, great location in the Twin Cities to find things to do. Sports are not too important, although we have a couple of pretty sweet soccer teams, everything else is kind of low key.

Academics
I don't think that we really have a bad department, Econ is definitely the best, the professors in the Chem department are really cool, philosophy is pretty interesting. I have only heard of a few bad professors but most of them are visitiing. The TA's are awesome, they are very willing to help with homework or anything. The workload can be overbearing at times, but most of the time it is average.

Student Body
The students are pretty awesome, there are a few crazies but that happens everywhere, most of the people here are really awesome. You will definitely get to meet people from countries you wouldn't even be able to imagine.

In Closing...
Macalester has a great atmosphere, not just bragging it up I am serious. This school is really fun.
