Introduction
There’s a lot of MIT pride – the great ones are always the ones where they get to the big dome and get to put things on top of it – so those are really very impressive – I like the Wright Brothers airplane they constructed on top of the big dome for the anniversary – that’s was really good

Campus Life and Social Life
Dorm rush is kind of interesting I think. Over the summer as a student you’re sent this CD to look at of little videos made by each of the dorms. When I was a student and I remember looking through that many times to try to decide where I wanted to live and then when you come here to MIT – during the orientation week I think you can go look around other dorms. I don’t really remember much about it because honestly I just pretty much stuck with the dorm I was in so I didn’t go out and see all the other dorms. It’s taken throughout my college experience to really see most of the other dorms so I think student that do get really involved in dorm will actually go from dorm to dorm and kind of check out the other parties there – check out the students, see what it’s like.

Academics
Because I’m an upper classman – my classes are actually pretty small – I’d say ranging from like 10 students to maybe 30 here so it’s pretty good. And usually that’s just with the professor in the room so there’s a lot of interaction – it’s very easy to go up to the professor after class and talk to him so that’s good. But in the past I’ve had much larger classes when you’re in classes everyone has to take as a freshman.

Student Body
The students on our campus are pretty interesting and very, very quirky so I almost think there’s like a culture of pain, like were very proud of how much work we put into this school and how hard it is. I hear students in the hall discussing how sleep deprived they are and you can see there’s almost “Oh, I have more work than you do and I haven’t slept in 3 nights,” and there’s almost this pride in that and it’s a really interesting culture.

In Closing...
We have a dorm called Simmons Hall and it’s supposedly an architectural wonder. It looks a bit like a giant sponge and its really funny, because if you look at it at night it looks like a radio-active sponge and so one of my friends when we were walking by was like “I hope it will blow up,” cause she doesn’t like how it looks – I haven’t been inside a lot. Students who live there seem to like it because it’s new but there are some weird things – there are big things in the hallways for no reasons it’s maybe not as suited towards student needs as being so interesting from an architectural perspective.
