Miiiiiiiiami
IntroductionMiami is a beautiful, well-laid-out campus. They are constantly building to keep the facilities state-of-the-art. And the girls I've met here are great. There really is a place for any type of person. When it comes to Sorority and Fraternity life, there really is a place for everyone! My advice would be to stay open-minded and don't let yourself be intimidated by people. If you can't afford expensive clothing, it's not the end of the world! People are seriously down to earth here and there is always something to do! Work Hard, Play Hard!
Campus Life and Social LifeI really think the Greek Community has a strong campus presence. It offers everything from activities to leadership roles to parties to charity events! Once you join, you will never go another weekend without your phone ringing 50 times. Weekends start on Wednesdays and there is always a reason to celebrate something! Uptown is a great place to go, Frat parties are key, but be a little cautious! If you don't like to drink and party, there probably isn't a lot to do. The library is completely cleared out by 4:00 Friday. Everyone parties.
AcademicsI am in the Business School. I am still working on "Miami Plan" (required) classes which are a little tedious...but I manage an A with aprox. 3 hours of extra work a day. Entrepreneurship is a great minor. The program is growing and will be very well-respected in a few years! Teachers have all been fabulous and always helpful! Even in big lecture halls, the teachers go out of their way to learn your name. Going to class is important in most classes, but some teachers also put outlines and powerpoints on the internet so we can prepare for class better.
Student BodyThe typical kid here is probably a relatively wealthy, "Work hard in class, play hard starting on Wednesday nights" type. Guys can be a little shady but girls for the most part are gorgeous. There's a lot of campus involvement. Intramurals are big, Greek Week is big, students are from everywhere...but primarily Chicago and suburbs in Ohio. Midwest has a strong presence.
In Closing...I LOVE IT!
