Not All Roads Lead To Oxford...

Introduction
It's the Ivy League of Public Schools. Miami is the college campus you see straight from a movie. It's the picture perfect college everyone dreams of attending. If you don't believe me see for yourself. To truly take in all Miami has to offer you, first you must visit this truly unbelievable campus. There are no words to describe its beauty. From the moment you step foot on its designer soil you never want to leave. You fall in love and there is no falling out.

Campus Life and Social Life
If you are looking to be involved on campus, then you have hit the jackpot. Any and every club you could think of, Miami has it. There are academic clubs, sporting clubs, greek clubs, and leisure clubs. There is no excuse to not be involved at Miami. Once you are done for the day trying to hype up your resume with all the magnificent clubs you are involved in, there is nothing better to wind down your day then the night life at Miami. Everyone heads uptown to attend one of the many house parties (which are named for your convience), or dance the night away at one of the many fabulous bars. All the students are so nice that you are welcomed anywhere on campus. I can't tell you have many facebook invites I get from students. The Coffee houses are great, and the resturaunts are fantabulous. You can never be bored on Miami's campus, im pretty sure the word doesn't even exist here. Everyone attends the sports games, there is a high level of support from the students, even if the team is not that good. I personally am a hockey fan, you have never attended a hockey game like Miami's. The fans are insane and very organized when it comes to cheering the team on. The level of excitement is astonishing and the band is awesome. The Greek Life on campus is huge and so involved. There is a sorority and fraternity to fit every type of person. The best thing about Miami is that there is always something to do whether its a festival uptown, a greek affair, a themed party, or just a quiet evening at a resteraunt. You have to be active and involved at Miami and those who aren't might find it a bit overwhelming, but I would say try it on for size, you never know what might fit. Academics
Miami is known for its vigurous and involved academics. There is not one program here that is not well known. The professors are very reachable and are always willing to help. They enjoy and want to teach which makes all teh difference. Most teachers have had experience in field they teach outside of just teaching it. The arts and science department is awesome. They really help you in figuring out which classes fit you and will help you to reach your overall goal. The Pre-med program especially is outstanding. They really know what they are doing, and coming from Miami you are pretty much almost guaranteed placement into Med School. You are compeating with the best of the best, sometimes that can be stressful. I have to admit there is a lot of work involved in succeeding, but I have never been kept from doing anything I really wanted do. If you want to succeed and gain experience then Miami is the right place for you.

Student Body
There is no typical student at Miami. It is very diverse. I would only say there is a typical style of clothing. If you like fields of Northface Jackets, guys in "popped collars" and aviators, or tanned girls in pearls carrying coach bags then you would fit in quit well. But you don't have to be materialistic to love Miami nor do you have to be wealthy. I for one am not and I'm probably the biggest fan of Miami there is. Students are from every corner of the United States. I think I have ran in to at least one person from every state. There are so many interests on this campus its insane, perhaps that is why there are so many clubs and groups you can be involved in. And if you don't find one that sparks an interest then you can start it, that's what is so awesome about Miami. Miami is known for its beautiful people, that is one rumor that I must say is true. There are many beautiful people here, and I haven't ran into one that isn't. It is intimidating, because girls come to class like they are going to meet their husband, but there are also girls that go to class is sweatpants and sweatshirts, I would be one of them. You don't have to dress like everyday is a special ocassion, be yourself and I guarantee you would fit in at Miami.

In Closing...
Miami is in it's own "Bubble" as we would like to say. But once you enter that bubble you never want to leave. Miami is what your college experience should be like. You have great academics, amazing social life, and a group of friends you will never forget. I feel truly lucky to be here and I wouldn't give it up for anything. But remember to have fun in college and don't take it so serisouly you have the rest of your life to grow up. You know you have made the right decision when you can call Miami your home."All roads don't lead to Oxford. To get here, you have to want to be here, but once you're here, you never want to leave."
