The Quintessential College Experience
IntroductionI always knew how I wanted to spend my four years of college: watching movies, TV shows, and visitng friends. I wanted the quintessential college experience. I felt that Miami fit my idea of college the best. Walknig across the beautiful campus, throwing the football out on one of the amazing quads, and waking up on the weekends and going down to our football game to cheer on the team. I wanted to go to a school where I could have fun, but also learn a lot. My classes so far have been great and the teachers have been very helpful.
Campus Life and Social LifeWeekends at Miami start on Thursday and end on Sunday. The Greek scene at Miami is great. I am currently in a Fraternity and it was the best decision I made. There is a different fraternity or sorority for every type of person and Greek Week is a two week long competition between fraternities and sororities. Uptown is great, the food is good, and the night scene is even better. Tons of bars to go to and Dance or Socialize really caps off a great night. However, if you decide not to take part in the greek scene, there are plenty of other opporunities to go out, have fun, and feel like a part of somthing.
AcademicsThe work is hard, but not out of hand. Miami is the type of school where students study hard, but are definitely not working on a friday night. Some of your first year classes could be large but professors are very nice and easily accessible. As long as you stay on top of your work there should not be a problem. While Miami students are serious about academics, they're equally as serious about having the most enjoyable four years of their lives.
Student BodyThe typical student at Miami is very nice and outgoing. Most students are pretty preppy and care about how they look. This is a very attractive student body, but for the most part everyone is pretty nice.
In Closing...Miami will be the best four years of your life
