Michigan State - A Great College Experience
IntroductionAlthough Michigan State is a very big university, it is very easy to get around. The bus systems are great and its very easy to walk and bike around campus. The campus is beautiful and it offers a wide variety of activities. I don't think there is any student would be unable to find their place at Michigan State.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere is a great "bar district" which includes a Buffalo Wildwings and Post Bar. There are a large number of restaurants within walking distance from campus so not having a car (and freshman can't) isn't the end of the world. The sports teams are great and very fun to watch (even though the football doesn't always win) and there are tons of clubs and intramural sports you can involved in. There are co-ed dorms and floors and the resident life staff is great. There are also lots of apartments and houses near campus if you prefer not to live in the dorm.

AcademicsThe workload is really pretty reasonable for the most part. Some professors are hard to understand, but I think you will find that anywhere. The TAs are very willing to help whenever you need it and although you are one of many, many students, there is always help available if you seek it out.
Student BodyThere is no typical student. I came from a catholic school so I led a pretty sheltered childhood. I met so many types of people at MSU. All political affiliations, religions, ethnicities, and sexual preferences are represented at Michigan State. However, most students love to hang out with friends, shop, walk around campus, and party.
In Closing...Michigan State is a magical place. If you are looking to go away to school but want a very homey atmosphere, MSU is the place to be. Don't be frightened by the size because once you walk around for a few weeks, it all seems like your neighborhood.
