MSU's Motto: Advancing Knowledge. Transforming Lives.

IntroductionDuring my senior year in high school, I did not have a clear plan for the year after graduation. My good friend was a freshman at Michigan State University (MSU) and told me all of the adventures that he was having in his first year. He told me that it would be a good school to attend if you wanted to find yourself. So, I applied in December and received my acceptance letter in January. After four years of being involved with greek life, choir, and student leadership, I received my B.A. in criminal justice. This school transformed me into an adult, and now at 22, I am going to attend law school. MSU was the best decision that I have ever made.
Campus Life and Social LifeSimply put: if you want it, MSU can provide it. I was involved in the Greek System, student leadership, and an a cappella group. There are many student groups on campus for any student to become involved, and if you can't find what you are looking for, MSU will give you $100 to start your own.
The official weekend starts on Thursday, but you can find a party any night of the week. My fraternity hosted Margarita Mondays and Sketchy Sundays. For the 21 and up crowd the bar scene is pretty awesome as well. At places like Harper's and Rick's, you can drink for half off and there is always a live band playing or a good dj spinning. If you want to get hype there are places to do so, if the chill atmosphere is what you prefer, there is that as well.

AcademicsMichigan State University is a world-renowned univerity for its academics. There are great colleges within the university like Lymann Briggs, James Madison, or Eli Broad. I was a criminal justice major at MSU, which has the top program in the country. MSU is more than partying, you can fulfill your life here by choosing the right academics.
Student BodyMost MSU students are from Michigan, although I have met some great friends from New York, Chicago, and Denver. The typical student at MSU is into the party scene a little "too" much. But, MSU is a great place to compete for class rank as opposed to U of M, which is very competitive.
In Closing...The school's motto is: Advancing Knowledge, Transforming Lives. I believe that MSU does exactly this. I am who I am because of MSU. Apply to this university. MSU has everything a student is looking for.
