Engineering at its finest
Rating: 1.3/5 (37 ratings)
IntroductionIf you want a small engineering school, this is the only one to consider. If you are lazy and don't like to do work then this is not the school for you. Focus is on engineering not gen-ed classes like English and Humanities. MSOE gives out a lot of financial aid to students every year based on your ACT score, and after your first year if you get good grades, they will increase your scholarships.
Campus Life and Social LifeMilwaukee has 3 colleges in the downtown area, so if you can't find a party pretty much any day of the week, you're not looking very hard. The cross country team is top notch (9 straight conference championships, state private college champion 2006). The Kern center athletic facility is great with a hockey arena, basketball arena, huge fieldhouse, and 160m track. The greatest club on the face of the earth is here. The Society for the Preservation of Hand-Eye-Coordination (SPHEC) runs ping pong and foosball tournaments. Free food can always be found on campus thanks to the student life office and their events.

AcademicsMechanical engineering is a great program, but be prepared to do homework problems late into the night with 3 of your closest friends. All of the programs are good, but the EE, ME, BE, IE, and AE programs are the best. MSOE doesnt have TAs, the professors teach all of the classes, and we have trimesters so if you don't like a teacher you only have to put up with them for 10 weeks.
Student BodyThe typical student is a white, male who plays a lot of computer games, but there are normal kids here too.
In Closing...ROTC is available here as well. It's a great way to get through college without massive loans.
