Introduction
MSOE is a great academic college. Those who require on-site party scenes or sports other than hockey and basketball would best look elswhere. MSOE is fast paced. MSOE will get you through an engineering program in 4 years (they guarantee it) where as in larger schools such as those in the UW system it may take 5 or even 6 years to graduate just because of class availability. Also understand that in the UW system you must be accepted into the engineering programs by the associated department in addition to being accepted for admission to the school. Here at MSOE you are automatically accepted into the programs upon admission to the school.

Campus Life and Social Life
Partying is not a big thing ON CAMPUS. Those who enjoy the party scene go to Marquette or UWM when they need to. The clubs on campus are smaller in size than those of larger colleges. It is important to get involved on campus and to have fun when you can. MSOE is not worth going to if you cant find a way to have fun.

Academics
As far as difficulty goes... let me just say that MSOE has had only 10 people graduate with a 4.0 in the more than 100 years since its founding. Only about 50% of the students who enter MSOE actually graduate. Graduating from MSOE is no easy task but if you can do it, you will be successful in life. The workload is hard. The professors are very helpful and for the most part want you to succeed. Class sizes are very small. Your professor will know you by name. Most professors have critical contacts in industry so they are indispensable when it comes to getting your foot in the door.

Student Body
The typical student is one that has a genuine passion for their chosen field of study. The typical student is capable in mathematics and physics (save the nursing students). The typical student knows how to have fun but also knows they need to focus on their studies when necessary.

In Closing...
MSOE is a great school if you are looking for a promising and successful career. If you are looking to get trashed every night and not study, you will fail miserably and quickly.
