MSOE is the last place you want to be
Rating: 2.7/5 (3 ratings)
IntroductionI chose to go to MSOE because I wanted to be in the perfusion program. The truth was that you just need a BS degree from anywhere, contrary to what the admissions man told me. If you're not sure if engineering is for you, do not attend. A lot of people quit after their first year.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere is no social life on campus. Most people have so much homework to do they never leave their dorm room. A lot of people are social introverts and would rather play computer games than talk to another human being. Sports are extremely easy to get into, but are not competitive at all. Clubs are mainly a mix of people, but a lot of the same people in all. Weekends are fun if you go off campus over over 21.
AcademicsAll departments are run poorly. The Biomedical Engineering program is the most unorganized and is made up of two people. The advisers are not very helpful and are known to sign people up for the wrong classes, just putting you farther behind. All BE students have design groups that are terribly organized with no real direction. Most professors are terrible, so it is better to figure out which ones actually teach something. There is a huge workload and about 2-3 quizes/tests a week.

In Closing...This is a terrible choice for Biomedical Engineering students. The program is still developing with a newly appointed program director.
