Comings and Goings
IntroductionAs a commuter, you don’t get to experience the entire NWU life. You don’t have that much of a social scene. You don’t get involved with the activities, I think…Living on campus definitely defines NWU experience.
Campus Life and Social LifeStudents are competitive here, but I think that if you find your group of friends, everything seems to workout. You work together and then I guess there are groups competing against each other rather than everyone being individually against each other.

AcademicsProfessors are usually very helpful at office hours. In class you might seem like you are a little distant away from them, but if you ask them questions on a one-on-one basis, they’re usually really helpful. It’s that you should make the effort and then they’ll know that you care about your classes.
Student BodyTA’s, it depends on your TA. Usually the TA’s are really helpful, you have discussion sessions and at those discussion sessions they help you with problem sets and if you have any questions you can email them. They’re basically like professors in the sense that you got to approach them.
In Closing...Evanston is beautiful. We’re right by the lake, there’s like an ASG restaurant guide showing over I think like 60 restaurants just about a mile away from here. If you want burger king, taco bell, to like a really, really nice restaurant like Coy, that serves Chinese food, there’s everything here. You can eat anything you want. There’s shopping, Urban Outfitters. I think there’s about anything you want to do is about a mile away from here.
Around the lake. What I’ve done so far is just going to the beach at night, watching the sunset. Usually a lot of people barbeque.
