Oberlin is Great!

Rating: 4/5 (34 ratings)
Introduction
If you are considering Oberlin, good for you! Oberlin is a great school, and your professors will actually know your name. The best thing I got from Oberlin was the ability to think critically and be able to understand a broad spectrum of concepts. Oberlin emphasizes having a diverse academic background and gives you the opportunity to take a variety of classes. If you are not interested in taking a variety of classes, don't come to Oberlin: otherwise, welcome aboard.

Campus Life and Social Life
Oberlin is whatever you make of it. If you like to party, there are plenty of parties to attend. If you like quiet nights in watching movies, the video store is not to far from campus and has lots of good movies! If you like game nights, there are lots of groups of students that get together for various games. I could probably go on forever because there are lots of weekend activities planned at any given time at Oberlin, you will never be bored on the weekends.
Academics
I was in the sciences and I loved the departments. The biology and chem departments are up to date, and the new science center is amazing. I can't say I didn't enjoy any department, the only problem people have is making up their mind about which department to go into because they are all wonderful.
I never felt like the workload was to difficult, but a lot of the reading was interesting so it wasn't so hard to digest.

Student Body
The students at Oberlin are so diverse and unique it is hard to describe the "typical" student. There is a group of students for every type of person out there. It just depends on what you like to do with your free time.

In Closing...
Oberlin is great! Go there!
