Melting Pot
IntroductionYeah, you should definitely live on dorms your first year. Weather you want to your second year or not – it’s up to you. You first year, that’s really where you make your best friends. All the people I hung out with my freshman year I’m still really good friends with and I’m probably going to be friends with them forever. You should definitely live here your first year and by all means, go to sporting events, you know, join clubs or whatever and just get out. Don’t be stuck in the house and miss home. Don’t go home every weekend – that’s definitely a bad thing.
Campus Life and Social LifeIt’s just a really good…Football games are, you know, you get to meet a lot of new people. Like everyday like every Sat., I’d sit with new people and make new friends. It’s just really good. It’s a really good place to be on Saturdays.

AcademicsIt’s really like a big melting pot. You really get the sense it is what the world is. People really mesh well here. In high school, when I went to high school, there was probably about 20 black kids or whatever and the rest where white or whatever, but here everyone hangs out together you know everybody is friends with everybody. If there is any beef, if anybody doesn’t get along, you really don’t see it.
Student BodyWhen the riots happened, I remember looking on the news, and they said, if they even seen your face on any of the cameras you could get fined, you could go to jail, you could get jail time.
In Closing...Mirror Lake is where we jump in right before the Michigan game every year. It’s for good luck and no matter if it’s cold or hot, we jump in and some people jump in with no clothes on and there’s always mud everywhere, people mud slide. It’s just a really good time. It’s a big Ohio State tradition.
