A Big School

Rating: 1/5 (48 ratings)
Introduction
Penn State I would say that’s its definitely really important to be outgoing because people just aren’t always going to come to you, but everyone can make friends, it is easy joining clubs and getting involved in all different kinds of ways can help someone who’s not as outgoing, to meet people. Penn State in some ways is cliquey, its such a big school that people do tend to go gravitate to people that are most like them, I would say, maybe compared to a smaller school atmosphere where everyone just blends in together.

Campus Life and Social Life
I hated football before I came to this school. I and no interest in watching football, I was like Penn State’s a football school, I’m definitely not going to those football games. But I went to one game and they had me. I was like totally all about Penn State football. Its crazy. When you have 110,000 students in that stadium like chanting “We Are Penn State” it’s a really awesome experience.

Academics
Penn State academically, whatever you’re looking for they can give it to you. But, you never really get personal attention from the professor– you always get some from the TAs maybe during recitation but that was kind of an adjustment for me cause you get these classes, they don’t take attendance and you’re expected to learn the material on your own. A lot of the engineering TA’s are foreign, they barely speak English.

Student Body
Our school is know for partying and every thing but everybody always takes time for school so everybody’s well rounded I think and were also a jock school – a really big jock school – so everybody loves to play sports weather its on the varsity level or the IM level. If you’re a freshman girl I mean you’re gonna be typical prey for like juniors, senior guys, junior, senior frat guys when you go to parties – just be careful around that stuff.

In Closing...
I think someone that wouldn’t fit in to Penn State is someone who would be apathetic or who wouldn’t care about getting involved or having a good time and enjoying the surroundings.
