Penn State
IntroductionAt first, Penn State wasn't even on my list of school's to visit. I came to visit my friend who went here and he took me out to experience the school and I fell in love with the school. It had a gorgeous huge campus, a cute downtown area, and fun weekends. I believe that anyone can really love Penn State, but if you love your home town and can't meet new people easily and won't try to, its hard to enjoy this school. It is important to join clubs and stay busy because if not, people can just rush past you and you can feel left out. If you stay busy and involved in the school you will have the best experience of our life.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe best part of Penn State's social life is that there is always something going on, either clubs, different sports games, or frat parties. The parties here are week long, you can almost find something to do any night of the week. Frats are the main way people go out here, either that or apartment parties. Penn State football is obviously huge here, so if you don't have season tickets, you are either scrounging around to get them, or you are watching it with the other students on TV. There are a ridiculous amount of clubs here and if you are interested then you should definitely check it out. The weekends here are always busy and you can always find a frat or a game to go to.
AcademicsThe professors I have had so far are awesome. They care about the students and they try to make their classes fun and interesting. Some of the TA's don't speak great english, especially when you get into the math and science classes. The workload is managable if you manage your time correctly. Sometimes it can be hard to get everything done while participating in many clubs as well as having a social life on weekends and going to games, but it can be done. I have found that many of the communications classes and smaller classes have awesome young teachers. I also saw that some lectures even have teachers that make it seem intimate.

In Closing...Penn State may be a huge school but by staying busy, meeting people, and joining organizations it can seem like a small community.
