PSU is for You

Rating: 5/5 (67 ratings)
Introduction
If you want to come to PSU make sure you are ready for the greatest total experience of your life. There is so much to experience at Penn State that almost everyone can fit in. Whether you enjoy watching football or think you belong in the juggling club, PSU has something for everyone. Friends are easily made if you make the effort to get involved in something that is of interest to you!

Campus Life and Social Life
Social life is an amazing part of PSU. Parties are what most students live for. Freshmen usually trek out to frats every weekend and you see upperclassmen going to apartment parties or bars. However, if partying isn't your thing, there is also a ton to do. PSU offers free movies on weekends as well as free activites at the Union Building. Downtown has its own movie theater and there is a bowling alley, an ice rink, and just so much to do! Intramurals are awesome at PSU and pretty much everyone plays an intramural sport of some type.

Academics
Academics are very good at Penn State. There are a lot of engineering majors here and that's what a lot of people seem to do. The arts program is really good and I haven't really heard anyone complain about their major. Professors are very accessible and are generally very friendly and welcoming. They hold office hours frequently and are usually availble by appointment. TAs can sometimes be foreign and hard to understand but most of them are very friendly and they're all so knowledgable.

Student Body
At a school this big, there is no "typical" student. You have such a varitey of students from the kids who go out and party, to the kids who stay home and study. There is something for everyone at Penn State and it's an amazing place to meet a diverse crowd of people.

In Closing...
Penn State is the greatest school. There's a certain respect you get when you tell people you're a Penn Stater. We have the largest alumni association in the country for a reason. Odds are at least one person out of about 150 people you know is a Penn State student or grad. PSU rocks and hopefully you'll love it too.
