Diverse and Friendly
IntroductionThere’s a lot of diversity within, at least in my classes, being in the science department we have a lot of International Students especially a lot of Asian students. Our professors, you know it’s kind of half and half, whether they’re American or International Professors. So I guess in my situation it’s mostly just foreign students. Basically Purdue is a really big school so we have tons of student organizations and activities – anything from ballroom dancing competition team, which is what I’m involved with, to fly-fishing, to sky-diving, anything. You want to do you can do it here.
Campus Life and Social LifeI actually lived on campus for two years and the dorms were cool like when you’re a freshman, just because, you kind of don’t know anybody when you get here and being in the dorms kind of help you have an established social group. But living off campus I think is nicer because you have more freedom and you don’t have to be – you don’t have to check in after a certain time and you set your own hours – you set your own chores – you can you know live with a couple people and just be more independent.

AcademicsWe have a really, really high reputation in our engineering programs – were ranked in the top 5 nation wide and as far as I know with internships and everything I’ve had internships over the summer and I’ve never had a problem finding one so we have one of the biggest engineering, high tech job fairs in the country every fall and there’s hundreds of companies here, looking for Purdue grads or Purdue students for internships.
Student BodyA lot of parties you go to there just – a lot of guys and almost no girls so you get a lot of attention that way but I don’t know – it depends on what you’re looking for I guess.
