Work Hard, Play Hard

Rating: 2/5 (26 ratings)
Introduction
West Lafayette itself is not that great but, Lafayette, the town is not too far away and it’s pretty good. I mean, there are things to do but it’s not one of the best college towns that you’ll find.

Campus Life and Social Life
Engineering – Purdue’s basically one of the best, if not the best, Engineering school in the nation, which is good if you’re an engineer obviously but sometimes it kind of sucks cue that means we bring in a lot of guys cause you don’t typically find too many girl engineers so, I mean its good for out schools reputation but as far as the guy to girl ratio and all that it kind of sucks and a lot of engineers cause it so hardcore are studying all the time. So, it’s good for the schools reputation but bad for other things.
Academics
Breakfast Club is a big thing, basically you have to be 21, because it happens at the bars, and what it is if you’re 21 you go to the bars before football games – you wake up pretty early, hence it’s called Breakfast Club, and you dress up in crazy costumes and you go to the bars and drink and then you come back and everyone who goes is pretty drunk when you get back.

Student Body
Grand Prix is basically a week long celebration that happens right before everyone studies for finals and it’s a annual go cart race that we have – we have a track set up for on campus and you know it’s a basically a week to party all the time – we don’t usually have exams or homework due so everyone goes big every single day of the week, basically there’s something to and big party’s for it.

In Closing...
Our sports are real competitive since it is a big 10 school, we have a huge football program – it’s probably the most popular one by far, but basketball everything our whole athletic program is pretty hardcore since it is a big 10 school – a lot of big rivalries and you know it’s just all around competitive and a lot of people go to the games to watch – and everyone’s real involved with it.
