Everyone thinks they're God- Good contacts for the future
IntroductionI chose RISD because it was the number one school in America for designers- industrial, graphic, and fashion. You will live, breathe, and sleep art here- if you consider art an escape from other things, then you might want to stay away from this school as all anyone does or talks about is art. RISD also has miserable financial aid.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere's really no social life here- if you like partying, you can go up to Brown. Sports are a complete joke. Clubs are technically available, but participation is terrible despite support from the administration. The majority of people are so obsessed with themselves and their own work that they never participate in any activities.
The good thing about this place is the contacts you will make for your future career.

AcademicsAll design departments are amazing in teaching students solid design skills, while the fine arts majors are not nearly as good, excepting the textiles and illustration major. The design departments concentrate mainly on the technical aspect while ignoring the business and real life aspect.
Student BodyThe vast majority of the student body is white and loaded. I think there were around 3 black and Hispanic students in my class. The asians are mostly rich Korean international students who keep to their own social circle. All students tend to be self absorbed and nassicistic, with little interest for anything beyond their own work. However, their passion for what they do is contagious, and you will be inspired/ pushing to work to your limit in your art.
In Closing...In closing, RISD is great for people who understand that the next four years will be art, art, and more art in an intense pressure cooker enviornment. The liberal arts classes tend to be a joke, so if you're not absolutely certain that your major is what you want to do for the rest of your life, you're better off going to a liberal arts school or a university and majoring in art.
