IntroductionRhodes is a small school! In a big city. The school is good and getting better about providing things to do especially on the weekends, but there is always Memphis to explore. Athletics really aren't a big deal here, but the games are still fun to go to. Students in general work hard and play hard. Neither hard there is as hard as at a lot of other schools, but i haven't been to other schools.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe social life on campus isn't dominated by greek life, only half the students are greek and the greeks don't live in their houses. There is at least one big party, usually hosted by a frat, every weekend and if you know the right people, you can go to a few parties every weekend. People don't really party much during the week, except maybe thursday nights. Weekends-friday night party or hang out, saturday sleep, maybe some homework, a football game or basketball game possibly, saturday night go out or hang out, sunday-church and homework.

Academicspopular majors-biology, business (accounting and economics), international studies, political science, psychology. The least popular-computer science. A lot of students are pre-med and the pre-med bio majors are always stressed out, but because they are so stressed and at rhodes it pays off because most of them get into med school, and their top med school at that. there are also a lot of business/econ/accounting people who can and will use their connections in the memphis area. Rhodes is good about providing resources no matter your desired career. Professors-most are good and about one per semester has invited me to their house. We don't have TA's. Some of the classes are bigger-the intro classes, but after the first semester they are noticeably smaller. Professors are generally pretty approachable and want their students to do well.
Student BodyThere are varying opinions on the student body. To me, it's diverse because my high school really wasn't, but Rhodes doesn't consider itself diverse so it is working overtime to correct that by admitting more minorities each year, especially students of color. However, we do not have very many hispanic students here, possibly because of the region of the country we are in? In that, groups tend to stick together.
In Closing...Rhodes is a great school, but of course it isn't the perfect school for all. If you want big sports where it's a challenge to get tickets to the football game which will be nationally televised, Rhodes doesn't have that, but you can drive to oxford or watch university of memphis basketball. You're not just a number here and teachers notice and take off if you're not in class. The greek system is nice to have, but not all dominating. A lot of college is what you make it so take your time, throughly research all your schools, visit and spend the night when possible.
