IntroductionAlright, if your the type of student who has aspirations and does considerably well in high school but also wants a party scene along with the scholar life then this is the perfect place. During the week you can go to your classes in which you can basically pick the level of difficulty in depending on your major. Certain majors dont require a math but you have to take one for CORE classes (basic classes) so you can take Math in the modern world which is just simple everyday math youll find useful such as finances and whatnot. after classes you can head over to the dining hall and commons which is a brand new facility and let me tell you they have everything from quiznos basic grill and sandwiches to italian cuisine, a sushi bar and a teryaki grill. Everything is pretty close to each other so your not trudging a mile to class or to eat its all close. the staff is very helpful and also the students involved in campus programs specifically for incoming freshman they help you with every aspect so your never confused and alone. If your considering this school youll definitely have to be accustomed to coinciding with fairly wealthy kids and mostly abercrombie style people. However dont let this discourage you, because this school is definitely not cliquey at all you can walk up to someone and sit with them and talk casually and comfortably. Sadly, this school is not very diverse, im going to guess its because of the cost. its about 35,000 a year to attend and for many ethnic people its a very discouraging investment. If you are ethnic and uncomfortable without having many of your own culture to be around this might not be the school for you. I personally chose this college because i wanted to major in dance and they have a very great program here. unfortunately due to knee injuries i had to recently forfeit my major and become undecided. Im taking a few classes to see what else i like and hopefully find my nitch.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe good old campus life, well theres alot going on around here all the time, i swear, this campus never sleeps. On the weekends its just a great scene to be a part of. if your on a sports team youll have the time of your life. Im on the wrestling team managing them this year. Every weekend we go to the upperclassmens dorms (which are amazingly nice) and stuff as many people we can in. Its a bunch of the friendliest outgoing funny people youll ever meet. This may be a plus or minus to you but it is extremely easy to attain alcohol as well as pot and various others on campus. Club scenes are great here. providence is only 20 min away and you can take the RIPTA (ri public transportation) to it. (freshman get free ripta passes) Babylon is personally my favorite because the RIPTA drops you off and you take another shuttle to the club which will bring you straight back to campus at latest 4AM. ultra is also a good club to go to, side bar is more casual and a chit chat place. Be prepared to be around a lot of drunk people and laugh a lot at the stupid things they do. its annoying at times when say i have to get up early and work a fundraiser for a wrestling trip to FL and people are riding down stairs outside my door on an air mattress at 3AM but if you tell them that you need to sleep and they need to be quieter most people will be cooperative to the max. Also, a note about RA's (residence assistants) i have THE COOLEST RA in the entire campus. he is great to talk to and hang out with and a great guy. he will do his job if he sees need but if your respectful and cooperative it will go a LONG way here. the RA's are all pretty understanding and willing to work with you and cut you slack but you cant take advantage of them or act innappropriately because they are students also.

AcademicsAcademics range from totally not stressful to im not sleeping tonight stressful. this all depends on your major. as an undecided major i have 5 classes (as all full time students do)I have a literature/philosophy, human behavior, history, math in the modern world, and italian class. I typically get about an hours worth of homework each night at most. in reguards to books, make sure you order yours early because you dont want to get stuck paying full price for books because they are expensive. Used books are almost always in good shape and you can go pick them out yourself, some have helpful highlighting already done also. Professors are great here, many of them are highly respectable and accomplished in their fields. personally i think the most respectable professor here is a man from baghdad iraq who has worked with the US coalitions for the past three years helping them translate and carry out various missions, he is also an english professor and was teaching at a university back home. His country found out that he was working with US forces and threatened to kill him and many others in the same situation. he immediately left his family and fled to jourdan where he waited for eight months to attain a VISA to come to Roger Williams as a visiting scholar. He now attends Brown University and teaches Arabic here. He is an amazing professor and well known on campus.
Student BodyI have answered this above.
