St John's sucks

Rating: 3/5 (77 ratings)
Introduction
If you're consider St. John's, come for the pharmacy or law programs. Otherwise, you should really consider another school. the student body is very african american, asian, and indian friendly - there really is a lot of diversity here. But as far as your standard, white kids? The school isn't that friendly - lots of ethnic cliques.

Campus Life and Social Life
The campus is dry - meaning no alcohol is allowed - so the social life revolves around bars. This means you need a good fake, or get ready to spend Fridays alone.

Academics
Sometimes it seems like the school couldn't care less about academics. Lack of study space abounds. But I guess when most of the majors are jokes then you don't need to study. Again, like I said, the college of pharmacy and the law school are both top ranked - but other than that, everything else is subpar. Really pharmacy is the big standout: the deans of the college of pharmacy are just great people who really try and help out the students as much as they can.

Student Body
Again St. John's is very diverse, but that also means a lack of school spirit. Everyone stays within their own groups which are based upon color or ethnicity. But thats New York for you, right? Certain minorities get all the love from the faculty and promote the majority of events on campus. There's not much for the common, everyday student but rather a lot for african american students. Theres not enough student support at basketball games.

In Closing...
The policies on campus suck because the school allows thugs to dorm - meaning that they're really strict because some of the goons here have created a really bad dorming situations.
