IntroductionMy biggest advice is that if you're comming to this school, prepare yourself for a small setting. Some campuses seem to go on forever, but this school's campus has everything in walking distance. I choose it because the school provided me with a laptop, the tuition was reasonable and I didn't want to get swallowed up in a big school setting. If you are a big time city person then this school is not for you. When you're here, it's about the people, and less about the clubs and malls (not) lining the street.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe best part about socializing is that because it is a small school, you are likely to run into the same people. It kind of forces you to make friends. The worst part about campus life is that it's also easy to just sit in your room and never make friends. The parties call be really lame but if you are with your friends, that can make a fun party. Sports are intese here just like at other colleges. However, some people hang out with only the people on their team so they walk around like gang members. The clubs can be fun and intense too. But the best part about the clubs are that even if you have had no experience in it, they welcome you with open arms. The weekends pass by quickly because you have to balance fun with studying.

AcademicsThe school's academics are pretty intense. You are handed due dates for assignments and some teachers will remind you, while others will let the date creep up on you. The biology and psychology department are pretty big here. Almost 9 times out of 10 your teachers will respond to emails and IM's immediately. Some professors are really boring but almost all of them are helpful.
Student BodyThe 'typical' student at my school are of 2 extremes. They are either hippy, laid-back like or jockey. Some students are into just chilling and jamming out on their guitars and others are into sports, especially frisbee golf.
In Closing...St. Mary's College of MD isn't for everyone. It will take a lot of adjusting for someone that might be use to a little more diversity. But it is a good school and you'll never know if you like it until you visit it!
