A Unique School
IntroductionYou should be very liberal or at least outspoken. The majority of Smith girls are liberal, and so if you're a Republican, you will get taunted a bit. Smith also isn't a huge party school. While there is some drinking, it's really minimal compared to most colleges. And there are no men. So unless you can deal with that, or are willing to leave campus a lot for them, don't come here. But if you are a liberal or lesbian looking for sanctuary, you'll fit right in.
Campus Life and Social LifeA lot of people are involved in sports here, but it's DIV III so it's pretty low-key. There's not a whole lot of partying, at least in the typical college sense. You generally, need to get off campus to meet guys and go to big parties. All of the on-campus community is based around houses and afternoon tea (the parties we do have), etc. Most of your friends will probably be from your house, too.

AcademicsI feel like we have a lot of work, but we really don't. Most people here think we do though and throughly complain about it. Most of the departments are great, especially English, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Engineering, etc. We don't really have TAs, basically just MT's, who are tutors to help us with our work and we have student graders. Professors, for the most part, are very accessible.
Student BodyWe have students from everywhere, all over the world. It seems like a lot of people are from the Northeast or the far West, but we have plenty in between or internationally. A lot of pople here are into a more unique scene. We have a lot of lesbians, or at least girls who like girls for their time here. Most people are liberal.
In Closing...You should be at least somewhat comfortable with yourself before you come to Smith. You'll experience a lot of new things here, and you should be prepared to. On of your first days here convocation will probably shock you.
