A Melting Pot...

Rating: 3/5 (33 ratings)
Introduction
When you hear the U.S. is a melting pot, I believe that Stanford just embodies that idea of a melting pot. There’s so much diversity on campus. There’s so many different ethnicities, cultures, religions. Diversity is very abundant at Stanford.

Campus Life and Social Life
It can be described as the Stanford bubble. There’s everything on campus, we have a movie theatre, we have a gas station there’s workout facilities, there’s everything, there’s restaurants, ATMs, banks, air fare, there’s even travel agencies on campus so I feel that if you really wanted to you could live and survive at S for as long as you wanted. You don’t have to get up because everything is so accessible with a bike or in walking distance and we have a bus system that runs on campus.

Academics
I feel that although it’s hard to find anything that’s wrong the thing that I least like about it is sometimes the kids can be over intense but it’s not like a bad intensity, it’s just like an intensity where you’re always competing here. You’re always competing against the best. And you definitely feel the need to be the best every single day. I think there is that pressure being a Stanford student to succeed. You have to stay within your self and be strong.

Student Body
What type of student would like Stanford? I would say would be a very driven student a student that can embrace differences, diversity. A student that wants to reach out and branch out from the normal, everyday life. I think Stanford offers so many things academically, culturally that I don’t know who wouldn’t like it.

In Closing...
The Dorms are very interesting. After your freshman year there’s also theme houses that are offered. Like there’s Casa Italiana which is an Italian Theme House, there’s Casa Zapata which is an Hispanic theme house, there’s Oujima which is an Aftrican-Amer. Theme house. The housing at S even embodies it’s diversity and its acceptance of all these differences. You rarely hear complaints about the housing situation at Stanford.
