Chill at Stanford
IntroductionThere is a laid back atmosphere, like the California like “Chill Dude” atmosphere.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere’s nothing really to do in Palo Alto. It’s kind of catered to all the rich White people. I don’t even consider a campus, I consider it a city because we have a fire dept, we have police dept. We have a mail center. We have our own zip code. We have our own hair salon, our own mini Wallgreeens, a mall, a hospital.

AcademicsI don’t study that much. There are people here that do study a lot and those are normally the people that stay in their rooms, so if you’re one of the people that doesn’t study that much and you want to get out more, you will find people that are just like you. I don’t really like sit down and read my math book for fun. That’s not what we do around here. I know that it’s really difficult to become a Computer Sci major here. Because they’re really really tough. I think they’re like #1 now in the US for the Computer Science Major.
Student BodyMy advice to incoming freshmen is get an All-Freshman dorm because you’re only going to be a freshman once and having that experience is totally awesome because the 4-class dorms are more like, “Okay, we’re at S, we’ve been here for a while, let’s chill, let’s do our homework, “ But the Freshman dorms are awesome. We’re playing a game in our dorm right now called assassins where you each have a water gun and you have a target to shoot within 24 hours and someone else is trying to shoot you and you got to shoot your target. So the whole entire dorm experience is incredible, it’s like once in a lifetime.
In Closing...Stanford students not as nerdy as some think. The Stanford student definitely is laid back, they do have a lot of intelligence, of course, but they don’t flaunt it. When they walk down the street they don’t like, “oh if I can calculate the trajectory of this car” you know, they just like, “okay, there’s a car.”
